I've always been fascinated by Joseph in the Bible. His life, as recorded in Genesis, is one of the most fascinating stories in Scripture, full of dramatic twists and turns, dreams, betrayal, suffering, redemption, and a surprising ending!
But what I really love in his story is this simple phrase that appears again and again in the Bible:
"The Lord was with Joseph."
Once you notice it, you can't unsee it.
The Lord was with Joseph when he was thrown into a pit by his brothers.
The Lord was with Joseph when he was sold into slavery.
The Lord was with Joseph when he was falsely accused and imprisoned.
The Lord was with Joseph long before he ever stood in Pharaoh's palace.
Isn't it incredible? It completely changes how we read Joseph's story!
Because the defining truth of his life wasn't what happened to him— it was Who was with him through it all.
We've all had moments like Joseph, when we've wondered:
- Did God forget me?
- Why is this taking so long?
- Does God still have a purpose for my life?
- Can anything good come from this disappointment?
Joseph's story reminds us that God's presence isn't reserved for the destination. It's found in every chapter.
