Loving God with all your heart means surrendering every part of yourself to Him. — Megan Fate Marshman
Friends, when I chose the word "relaxed" as my word for this year, I had no idea what I was getting into. I didn't realize how much it would stretch me… already!
In past years, I've chosen words like "devout," "follow," "wait," and "listen." Each one drew me closer to Jesus. But "relaxed"? This one feels different. It's challenging me to be more like Him.
Not worried over all the things.
Not wrestling for control (ahem).
Not stressed about workload and life pressures.
Not anxious about what's coming next.
That feels radical, doesn't it? Almost revolutionary.
And that's why I'm so excited about our upcoming Online Bible Study — Relaxed: Letting Go of Self-Reliance and Trusting God by Megan Fate Marshman, starting April 20.
We're going to learn how the One who was completely unworried lived with peaceful confidence and unwavering trust in His Father — and how we can walk in that same way.
What I'm discovering is this: being relaxed is deeply connected to trust.
For so long, I've tried to manage all the internal knots — responsibilities, caretaking, mothering, work, relationships, money — by muscling through in my own strength. But the weight of the world was never meant to rest on our shoulders. It belongs to Almighty God, who is actually in control and knows exactly what He's doing.
