What It Means to Have the Eyes of Our Hearts Opened By Jennifer Waddle "…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you…" - Ephesians 1:16-18 ESV Not only was mankind created with physical eyes, to see the beauty of creation around them, they were formed with spiritual eyes, able to understand the deeper things of God. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for mankind to sink into a pit of spiritual blindness because of sin and rebellion. When Adam and Eve had perfect union with the Lord, He had already opened the eyes of their hearts to know Him and fellowship with Him. The day the serpent came, he deceived Eve by claiming her "eyes would be opened" and she would be like God.   CONTINUE READING →
