When God Looks Down from Heaven By Tiffany Thibault God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. - Psalm 53:2 When you are flying high up in the sky and look out the window to the earth below, this is what you can see: the rivers look like sparkling ribbons, curving and twisting down the back of a girl's long hair. The tiny houses and yards look like homes where Tinkerbell could live. The farm fields are filled with crops varying in their colors, like patchwork on a beautiful quilt. The tiny boats are bobbing on the water, clearly pointing out the massiveness of our oceans. This is why I love to have the window seat when I am flying on a plane. I love to look at my hometown as we take off and the new city as we land. Everything looks different when seen from above. I see things as I look down that are not so clear when I am on the ground looking around me. Buildings look shorter, homes seem smaller, rivers seem longer, deserts seem more desolate, and mountains are not so grand. When I am high up in the sky, I am in awe of all that I see, of all the things God created and that man has built. My struggles fade into the background when I look upon the unending expanse of the sky. |
