The bible says “it is the Spirit that quickens (gives life), the flesh profits nothing”- John 6:63. The flesh can only produce dead works. That which will bring a greater benefit to our generation has to be authored and sponsored by the Holy Spirit.
In Phil 3:3, the Bible declares that the Father seeks those who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth. This worship goes beyond the songs and the music, it is about the heart. Worship is about you going to God’s presence. The problem is, we do not want to leave where we are, we always want God to come to us.
Even Jesus queried Nicodemus, as fine a teacher of the law as he was, of struggling with base things (John 3:10-12).
Part of what the Holy Spirit does to you is to make you humble. The Spirit enables us to bear the truthful realities of the Kingdom of God (Ps 119:144). People do not understand, because their understanding has not been enlightened. Without the Holy Spirit, our hearing can never be fruitful, and our understanding can only be from the human plane (1 Cor 2:14). The Spirit must quicken the Word in you; this Word then becomes your personal sword.
We must ascend into the presence of God, because the natural cannot receive the things of the Spirit. The Bible revealed that some folks heard the same Gospel being preached to us but it yielded nothing in them because they were devoid of faith, and faith is of the Spirit (Heb 4:1-2; Gal. 5:22). Without the Holy Spirit, our understanding is unproductive and ineffective (1Cor 12:3).
Jesus Christ referred to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of faith, of life, and of God. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth (John 16:13). Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6, 17:17). Your path through the Holy Spirit becomes firmly rooted in God’s Word (Psa 119:105). The Holy Spirit searches out all things (1 Cor 2:10). The truth by the Holy Spirit makes you free (John 8:32). Your value-system by the help of the Holy Spirit is established on the Word of God.
Your choices for living must be dependent on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes you see the truth that sin has no dominion over you and that you have been delivered from the power of sin and death (Rom 8:1, Col 1:13). The Holy Spirit opens you to dimensions of grace, not to continually dwell in sin, but to rise above it.
Whose testimony are you bearing? If the Holy Spirit would not speak of Himself, from whom are we speaking? (John 7:18). The Gospel that is authored by the Holy Spirit is the power of God and it reveals the righteousness of God. The Spirit of God speaks from Christ. One of the assignments of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus Christ. Anything that would not glorify Christ can never be authored by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit gives you the mind of Christ. The Holy Spirit reveals things and events ahead of time.
Receive grace to be a doer of the Word in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
